Abstract

Japan and Chile share several problems related to the sustainable development of the Civil Infrastructure. For example, one of the main common problems to both countries is the extensive damage that have occurred in the last few years in both countries due to the action of natural hazards like earthquakes and tsuamis. This have led the colaboration between some chilean universities and japanese institutions through JICA . During this short workshop the japanese visiting delegation and chilean researchers will be exposed to the current developments of Civil Infrastructure and up to date investigations dveloped in both countries. It is expected that researchers may find topics for colaboration between the University of Tokyo and Chile, while chilean students may be encouraged to participate in investigations with Japanese researchers.
